Okanagan Film Commission Recruits New Industry Representatives
For Immediate Release: July 14, 2004
As the Okanagan Film Commission continues to grow and attract production to the Okanagan, two new faces have joined the Board of Directors, Russ Greaves and Diana Sposato. Their extensive industry knowledge and experience will guide in the continued implementation of the Okanagan Film Commission strategic plan.
Russ Greaves is the Regional Program Manager for Shaw Cablesystems in Kelowna and has over 25 years of television programming experience. He is currently responsible for managing community television programming in 12 cities.
Diana Sposato is an Intellectual Property Law Paralegal with Petraroia Langford Edwards & Rush. She was formerly employed by a national law firm in Vancouver where she specialized in Entertainment law, with a focus on film financing and tax credits.
"We are very pleased to welcome Diana and Russ to our Board of Directors. Their enthusiasm and experience will contribute to the continued success of the Film Commission," states Jack Peters, Chairman.
The Okanagan Film Commission's mandate is to generate a positive economic impact by enabling the growth of the Okanagan-Similkameen-Boundary region as a film centre. Production activity this year already includes television cooking shows, music videos, commercials, a hockey reality show and, this fall, the feature film "Peach Land". With record-breaking location inquiries reaching the office and numerous projects scouting, the Okanagan Film Commission looks forward to a strong film future in the valley.
